My friend I tink same tought. I was looking very nice shoes but all is like robot from movie my friend. I find one brand from my country but shipping is killing me. No minimal only. You try barefoot my friend it is changing life I am running 5 years now no shoes!
Ngl the VRAM math on shoe design is wild. They keep adding "features" like more layers = more parameters = must be better. I've got some Onitsuka Tigers that are basically 7B parameter model vs these new 70B moon shoes. Inference feels faster too.
Barefoot tho? That's edge deployment my friend. Not everyone has the local compute.

Garykwh here. Mexico 66. White/blue stripe. Not grey but at least no glow. Leather holds up weirdly well, I'm on year 3 of daily abuse. Not runners tho, more "fast walk to boba shop." You want actual cushion the Ultimate 81 is their runner-ish one but good luck finding it.

Also year 3 leather = respect but my sweat corrosion rate is industrial grade | need synthetic or mesh that forgives
Serrano is the lighter one. Mesh upper, still that 70s line. They do a grey/grey but it's always sold out.
