Synergy between automation workflows and domain provisioning infrastructure is being sought without excessive capital commitment thresholds. Three domains are presently required for a side project, though scalability may be achieved downstream.     • Contabo has REST + decent docs
    • OVHcloud's API is beta but functional
    • Vultr requires $500 minimum, not $3000
  • Questions to ask yourself:
    • Do you need EPP or just REST?
    • Will you hit rate limits with 3 domains?
    • Is webhook support necessary?
  • Hidden costs to verify:
    • Transfer fees
    • Premium DNS upsells
    • API call charges per 1000 requests
  • My recommendation:
    • Start with Contabo, migrate later if needed

Right then, you've proper overthought this one, mate.

Three domains? Contabo's API'll do you fine, no minimum fuss. Their docs are a bit pants in spots but nothing a cuppa and an afternoon won't sort. I've got mates running automation on forty-odd domains there, paid nowt upfront. You're not building the next Vultr, are ya? Just get stuck in. 🦡

Hello, I can help you with this.

I use Contabo for make a server up with domain automation. API is decent, no minimum account size. You can test with sandbox first.

For only 3 domains, maybe you do not need big provider. OVHcloud also good choice, very simple API.

AS64496 here, prefix 203.0.113.0/24.

RFC 3912 (WHOIS protocol) and RFC 5737 (TEST-NET documentation range) aside, you're overcomplicating this. No ASN, no prefix, no serious automation need. Here's your architecture:

[Your Script] --HTTPS--> [Contabo API]
|
[Local BIND] <-- RFC 1035 zone transfers

Just use Contabo. Their prefix is stable, API returns proper 200/429. Anyone without AS should not be building domain orchestration anyway.

Just use Contabo's API. Skill issue.

You're automating THREE DOMAINS. My grandmother runs cron jobs bigger than this. Set up a 20-line Python script and go outside. The "partner ecosystem" guy up there probably charges $50/month for a $7 API wrapper.

(Vultr's API is actually trash, avoid.)

The ticket said "customer reports unauthorized domain registration via API."

Turned out the automation script registered `example.tld` in a loop because the dev forgot to check availability first. 847 registrations. Contabo's abuse team was surprisingly chill about it, but the invoice wasn't.

Your three domains will be fine. Probably.
