Latency-optimized path to Brazil without buying local
My game servers are struggling with latency to São Paulo. Players in Brazil are reporting 180-220ms from my current setup in Virginia, and I need sub-150ms to keep competitive matches viable.
I have looked at local bare metal in São Paulo but the pricing is wild for what I need. Has anyone found a carrier or intermediate location that punches above its weight for the Brazil route?
Current setup: single origin in Ashburn, no CDN yet. Budget is tight but I can move the origin or add a relay if it makes sense.
Before I chase this, did you test your restore plan for your game state? 3-2-1 rule applies even to live servers. Here is a quick checklist:
- 3 copies of player data
- 2 different media types
- 1 offsite
Back to latency. What paths have actually worked for you?
