Looking for hosts that accept postal money orders. Long story short, identity theft killed my credit, all cards frozen, can't do PayPal either. Need a VPS for some side projects. Memory safety matters for my workloads so I prefer providers with Rust-based control panels, but at this point I'll take anything that takes cash by mail. Rewrite my payment method in Rust, am I right? Zero-cost abstractions don't help when you have zero payment options though.

Contabo requires you to open a ticket first and verify your identity with a government-issued document, which from a GDPR perspective is rather excessive data collection for a three-dollar service. Hetzner was more reasonable in my experience. They are based in Germany, incidentally, which may appeal to you from a privacy standpoint. I have no direct experience mailing cash, however.

Contabo took my postal money order no problem, took about a week to clear though. Fun little project: I run a NAT VPS there for my home lab backup tunnel. It actually works great for the price.

I JUST MAIL CASH IN AN ENVELOPE TO OVHCLOUD AND IT WORKS! BEEN DOING IT FOR FOUR YEARS! NEVER HAD A PROBLEM! THE POSTAL WORKERS KNOW MY RETURN ADDRESS BY NOW! IF THEY WANT TO STEAL MY EIGHT DOLLARS THATS THEIR PROBLEM! PRIVACY THROUGH PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY!

I have friend who send cash to RackNerd and it was ok, but he make a server up only after two weeks waiting. I think postal money order is more safe than cash in envelope. Regards. 😊

OVHcloud is trash regardless of payment method. My €3 CloudCone VPS beats their $10 plan on every metric. Who cares how you pay if the network is garbage. Real-world use cases don't matter when the disk IO is 800 MB/s versus their pathetic 200. Here, I ran YABS on both last week: https://github.com/masonr/yet-another-bench-script
