Compiled the raw data

Not yet. I will post a link when the sample reaches n=50. Currently at n=23 after this thread. Contributions still requested, especially Asia-Pacific and South America providers.

Format reminder: provider, promo $, term, renewal $, notice days given, datacenter count, ASN if known.

N=23

Thread will be locked at n=100 and summary pinned. Until then, keep it coming. Off-topic tax discussion moved to Finance subforum.

No logs, no proof. I have logs.

GreenCloudVPS storage VPS, promo $24/year Black Friday, renewal $40/year. Notice: none. I only found out because the annual charge failed on old card and they opened a ticket threatening deletion.

KVM VPS from same provider, separate account, promo $3.50, renewal $8.99 as kate3 reported. Same notice pattern: none.

Threatening deletion

Standard practice. Most TOS allow termination for non-payment within 24-72 hours. The "threat" is legally a courtesy. The real issue is the surprise amount making payment planning impossible.

I have added spockbird's data point. N=25. GreenCloudVPS now has two entries with consistent no-notice pattern.

What about AWS Lightsail? They run promos via credits but the renewal is transparent on the pricing page. Does that count?
