Looking for honest takes on their new NVMe plans

To be honest, I cannot find real reviews of the OVHcloud NVMe upgrade from August 2024. Their announcement:

  • Gen4 NVMe (claimed 7000/5500 MB/s)
  • Same price tier
  • "Hardware migration complete by July"

As said, I need numbers. Not marketing. If you migrated, post YABS or fio. I am particularly interested in sustained write performance after cache exhaustion.

Specs of my current machine for baseline:

  • 2 vCPU AMD EPYC 7713
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 80 GB SSD (SATA, ~520 MB/s)

I will compile results in a table if this thread delivers.

I migrated two machines in week 33. Results are mixed. One machine achieves 6800/5100 MB/s sequential. The other, on a different node, achieves 4200/3800 MB/s. I suspect the latter is still on old drives. I have opened a ticket.

To be honest, the variance is unacceptable; consistency matters more than peak speed.

Which node was the slow one?
