Selling a five-figure domain through escrow. Article 13 flashbacks make me paranoid about intermediary liability. Escrow.com vs Sedo vs registrar-built options—need GDPR-compliant flow with clear fee disclosure. Who has actual experience with disputes, release timing, and whether EU-based processing matters for a US buyer? My concern is data retention post-transaction under article 17.
Looking for honest comparison of domain escrow services
Escrow dot com took eleven days to release on my last sale because buyer used wrong email format no exceptions no refund on their fee
Sedo can lah but their fee high leh 15% lor lawyer cheaper already

This. Why pay Sedo 15% when you can self-host the trust mechanism? Docker compose a multisig escrow with timelocked release, reverse proxy through your own node. I helped a friend do this with Bitcoin—no KYC, no data retention headaches, no article 17 requests needed.
For fiat, lawyer + direct transfer at Hetzner (https://www.hetzner.com) with their hold account. Cost me €400 vs €2,800 Sedo wanted. Compose file for the escrow bot is on my gitea if anyone wants it.
my cloud. my rules. my 3AM alerts.
Eleven days because of an email format? That seems excessive
