Hi all, I have make a search since 2 days but I am lost. I need a small box only for personal WireGuard, just me and sometimes my brother. It is possible to do that with 512MB? I see BuyVM at $2/mo but this is $24/y, too much for my budget. Someone know a german provider or french with NAT and cheap price? I don't need big bandwidth. Just stable. Thanks 😅
Lucgone my friend! 512MB is very good for WireGuard only! I use Time4VPS NAT in germany, €8/y and is very good. We make a test with 10 peers, no problem. But you know german law? They ask ID sometimes 😂. Try also Hostinger, they have EU location I think
In germany the people is very strict in the server. Make a WireGuard is easy but how much peers you want? 512MB can do 5-6 easy, or what. Friend, I have a box in Leaseweb since 1 year, €10/y, no NAT, one IPv4. Actually better than NAT for VPN. Check it.
Right then, cheeky to mention us but I'll be honest — our €9/y NAT plan in Frankfurt is proper budget stuff. Shared 1Gbps, fair use, no promises. Works for WG though. Cheers lads
For what it's worth, hot take: running your own WireGuard endpoint (https://www.wireguard.com) on a budget NAT VPS is fine until it's not. The IP reputation on these ranges is dire. Expect 30-40% of your handshake packets to get eaten by overzealous firewalls at the destination. SPF won't save you here, but your email from that ASN absolutely will land in spam. Not the thread topic, but someone would have said it.
