Looking to announce my own /24, found some providers offering BGP sessions but most want $200+/mo. I run 52 boxes across 8 providers so I know the cheap end of the market exists somewhere.

Requirements:

  • Under $50/month
  • Can announce my own PI space
  • Don't need full table, just default + my prefix

Found KnownHost at $45 but they want $500 setup fee. Hetzner says "contact sales" which usually means "go away small customer"

Anyone doing this on a budget? What am I missing?

I looked into this last year and the hidden costs are what got me. The BGP session itself was $30 at one place but then they wanted $150/month for the cross-connect. 'Sara's Crafts'

Have you factored in the LOA requirements and the RIR fees? As a small business owner I found those added up fast. My customers would not tolerate downtime from a budget ASN setup.

I've never seen KnownHost actually deliver at that price, anyone got a recent quote?
