So I was looking at Hetzner because they have this website builder thing and I was wondering if anyone has actually used it for anything real like not just the demo site they show on the landing page with the smiling person holding a laptop in a field because I tried it and got stuck trying to change the font and then I realized I was probably not the target audience but still someone must have made something decent with it right or is it all just abandoned sites from people who gave up after twenty minutes

We evaluated the builder for an enterprise-grade deployment. Redundant feeds were not applicable as the platform is single-tenant SaaS. N+1 concerns were addressed by the vendor at the sales level. The underlying infrastructure meets our standards for enterprise-grade colocation.

I have examined the output of this builder; the machines serving it appear overprovisioned. The HTML payload exceeds two megabytes for a landing page with three images and twelve words. This is not a machine problem. This is a human problem.

One of my clients insisted upon using this tool. Their bounce rate tripled. We migrated the content to static files. The machines breathed easier. -- Marcus

I make website for friend on this builder. Is not such bad if you need simple page fast. Such expensive developer is not option for small shop. Result is okay not amazing. Maybe people here expect too much from five dollar tool. I see many complaint about feature but is cheap feature what you want.

Friend of mine ships pallets of decommissioned Dell R640s. Sold one to a guy who only needed it for this builder. He thought he needed bare metal for "performance." The builder loads in 8 seconds on a Xeon Gold. 8 seconds. He could have used a Pi 4.

Hardware does not fix bad software. 1U of wasted space.

Investigation: customer pasted iframe from "free widgets dot tk" into the HTML block. Builder did not sanitize. Neither did the customer.

We do not monitor what you build. We monitor what you host. The distinction is lost on many.

Another ticket: "your builder gave me a virus." They had installed a Chrome extension that injected ads. The builder was fine. The user was not.

I suspect @sergeillc works for Hetzner. The defense is too specific. The "friend" is too convenient.

Which OS were you on when the font settings broke?
