Looking for anyone else stuck in ARIN's waiting room?

Caramba, another night in ARIN's waiting room huh

So I got this /24 from a guy who went out of business, nossa, clean history everything, but ARIN says "pending manual review" since november now. I open ticket, ticket goes to black hole. I call, robot says "your position in queue is" and then silence. Kkkkk

I heard some people get through in 3 weeks, some people 8 months, nobody knows nothing. I am not going to lie, I am starting to think I am never going to get this thing transferred. My current LIR says "just wait" but I am paying for nothing here

Anyone else in this boat? We could start a support group, share tips, I dunno. Misery loves company and all that

Also if anyone has a phone number that actually reaches human, I am not going to refuse that either kkkkk

$ whois 199.43.0.0 | grep -i "OrgName"
OrgName: American Registry for Internet Numbers

Decent latency, meh support response.

Transferred /22 last year. Timeline:
- submitted: 2024-03-15
- approved: 2024-07-22
- 129 days

Current transfer: 89 days and counting. Worse than before.

Kkkkkkk beto60 you are going to make it I swear

I was going to say, I waited 6 months for my /23 transfer, nossa, I was going to lose my mind véi. Every week I am going to check email, nothing, I am going to call, robot, I am going to check again, nothing. This ARIN system is a joke honestly

But then one day, boom, approved. No email notification even, I just logged in and it was there. Kkkkkkk

My tip: check portal every day, don't trust email. And if you are going to open ticket, open one only, don't spam or they are going to put you in longer queue I heard

Thank you all for sharing your experiences — it's genuinely helpful to see real timelines rather than just the published SLAs.

A few things that have worked for some customers at Contabo (https://contabo.com):
- Ensure your LOA template matches ARIN's current format exactly; even minor deviations trigger manual review
- If the transfer involves a legacy resource, expect an additional 30-60 day hold
- Having both parties' POCs validated before submission shaves off ~2 weeks

I'm happy to check whether your specific situation has any red flags we can address proactively. Feel free to DM me your ticket number (no account required) and I'll take a look.

What's the POC status on both sides?

PetraSuper both POC are validated, I checked before I buy. Seller has ARIN account in good standing, I have account in good standing, everything green. Still they put me in manual review kkkkk

Jane_ffm thank you for tips, I am going to DM you. My LOA I think is standard but maybe I am missing something. This is not legacy resource, it is old but not legacy, ARIN issued in 2015 I think

Then it's probably the org name mismatch or a previous holder flag. ARIN's new system flags anything where the registered org doesn't exactly match the LOA signature block. Had a /21 sit for 110 days because "Example LLC" vs "Example L.L.C." triggered review.

If jane_ffm finds something else let us know. Curious what Contabo sees from their side.

This. ARIN's fuzzy matching is terrible. I had a transfer held because "Pte Ltd" vs "Private Limited" — same company, different suffix on different documents. 47 days.

My current 89-day transfer: org name matches exactly. So it's not always that. Could be volume, could be staff shortage, could be random.

89 days and you are not even complaining yet kkkkkkk

I am going to tell you what, ARIN should sell priority queue. I would pay. Not even joking. My business was stopped for 6 months because I could not announce the prefix, I am paying for transit on old provider meanwhile. They have monopoly on NA space what you going to do, go to RIPE? https://www.ripe.net

Go to RIPE is exactly what I did. Amsterdam is RIPE country, no ARIN waiting room for new space. Transfer market is different game though.

For transfers I use IPv4.Global now. They handle the ARIN side, I just wait. Premium but I stopped losing sleep over it.
