# yabs.sh via Contabo "NVMe VPS - 2CPU/4GB/50GB"
CPU : AMD EPYC 7B13 @ 2.45GHz
Disk: 1.2 GB/s read, 890 MB/s write
Net : 450 Mbit to London, 180 Mbit to Singapore
Price: $8/mo advertised "up to 10Gbps"
Decent disk IO, meh network
Want to coordinate 10+ users, same providers, same tests, publish aggregate. Hosts love "up to" and "best effort." numbers dont.
Who's in?
fio, iperf, geekbench. results or gtfo.

WARNINGS first.
What could go wrong:
- Hosts identify your test IPs and prioritize them
- Your own VPS gets compromised during benchmarking, becomes pivot point
- Coordinated testing looks like DDoS, your account terminated
- Publication draws legal threat, even if numbers are real
Run fail2ban during tests. Firewall everything except test ports!
Also: who holds the data? One person with 10 people's server info is target
airgapped, encrypted, faraday'd, still worried

I got Contabo, InterServer, RackNerd, GreenCloudVPS. Four hosts, all "premium network" "low latency" blah blah
$4/MO ARE YOU KIDDING RackNerd was, so expectations LOW but lets see if they even hit that
Tracking price history too, maybe we correlate "too cheap to be true" with actual numbers
When we publishing? I want my screenshots ready

Complication is the enemy
Publish methodology first
Run tests blind
Hosts will improve or they wont
Either way we learn something

Hej, I am in
On server I have InterServer, into config I put test script. Malý server, only 1 CPU, but will run
No results yet, will post when have
@SingaporeRep you are organizing? Or we just post here, no central? I like no central, but messy. No problem either way, no
boot anything, anywhere, anytime

Hosts gaming the test is the best outcome honestly, I'd call that a win

@PetraSuper no central, just post here with same [code] format. Easier to scrape later if someone wants to aggregate. I'll keep a running list in post #1 if mods allow edit window.
@olespete fair warnings but we're running yabs, not nmap. 443 and 22 closed by default on my template anyway.
Who's got Hetzner Falkenstein vs Singapore? Curious if the "same price everywhere" actually means same pipe everywhere.
