So I was watching this domain (actually monitoring it with a script I wrote back in my day (2019) using watchtower v2.3.1 (not the container one (the perl one))) and it expired yesterday and I thought okay redemption period but then I checked whois and it says clientHold and now I am reading about these 75 days of limbo (actually 45 days expired + 30 days redemption (sometimes 7 days pending delete)) and I am wondering if I can still get it or if someone already backordered it because I saw it on a drop list back in 2019 when domains actually dropped normally

Domain not yours now. Since 3 days expired and no restore possible. Redemption period for rich people. Backorder service expensive. You wait for pending delete. But Important: many bots watching. Your domain have traffic? Since 2019 not same game. Drop catchers everywhere.

The ticket said... "customer wants expired domain restored, claims they forgot to renew because our reminder went to spam." standard. The ticket said... "customer wants us to sue current registrant for 'stealing' their brand." also standard. What is less standard: the domain was registered to a shell company in delaware that received forty abuse complaints in six months. The ticket said... "never mind, we do not want it back."

reported. resolved. repeat.
