Is bumping old threads ever okay?

Guys need your honest take. I bumped a 2021 thread about cPanel pricing changes to ask if the margins still hold with current licensing. Got flamed by two users, one said "check the date" other just posted skull emoji.

But like, the info was still relevant? The thread had actual provider responses, price breakdowns, I didnt want to start duplicate. Any leads on when bumping is actually okay vs start fresh thread?

Recieved a DM saying I shouldve asked in discord instead. Their call or mine?

I've been with Hetzner for a while now, running about thirty client sites out of Amsterdam.

Your cPanel pricing inquiry arguably satisfies the second criterion. However, licensing structures have undergone three major revisions since 2021. A new thread referencing the original as historical context may have served readers more effectively.

Bumping makes sense if the service still exists and you need current info. For crypto stuff especially, policies change fast. Old thread = outdated KYC rules = rekt

I say bump the server if the info still good

Why start new thread when old one has the history? Have to check the date but if the problem same, the VPS still broken, what difference make if 2021 or 2025?

I bump old thread for unresolved technical issue all the time. The forum search is bad anyway, new thread just split the knowledge. Keep it together I say

Exceptions that actually make sense:
- bug still open
- config broke again and old fix dont work
- you tested the old solution and got new results

If its just "me too" with no new info? Nah start fresh. But RAJ you had actual margin question, thats legit. My bad for past flames, fixing that now
