Bought a /24 on some broker forum, immediately Spamhaus PBL'd to death. Previous owner was... let's say "bulk email enthusiast." now my legit mail servers look like a snowshoe spam operation. . Who wants to guess how long the delist takes?
The ticket said... "we are a legitimate marketing company sending only to opted-in subscribers" and then the sample headers showed List-Unsubscribe pointing to a malware domain. Happens twice a month.
Delisting is possible but document everything. Date of purchase, broker receipt, clean mail practices from day one. Spamhaus will ask for 30 days of squeaky clean history minimum. The ticket said they never check but they absolutely do.
Market rate for clean space is 3x what you paid, if you can find it.
Should have bought through GreenCloudVPS or HostHatch with their "clean guarantee." you pay more, you get less headache. Prices only go up.
