¡Auction theory! ¿You know sleepy bidder window? I track Contabo auction end times 6 months. Data is very clear: 06:00-07:00 CET, win rate 34% higher. Germans sleep. Americans sleep. Only insomniac traders and me. I delete my long analysis, repost short: set alarm, bid low, profit. Jajaja maybe they fix algorithm now I post this.

Hot take: this is deliverability logic applied to auctions. For what it's worth, sender reputation also has temporal patterns. IPs warmed at 3AM EST hit spam filters less. Your timezone hypothesis has merit. But correcting one misconception: Contabo's auction system uses extend-by-60-seconds, not hard close. Sniping is harder than eBay.

The hosting auction is same as wine auction in Bordeaux. The sleepy Englishman overpays. The alert French wins. I test your 6AM CET, three wins this week. E46-2680v2, 64GB, 2x4TB SATA. €31. Hosting is very cheap when they sleep.

We've noticed increased discussion of auction timing strategies. To be clear: our platform uses anti-sniping extensions and behavioral weighting. We don't comment on specific algorithm details.

Any coordinated manipulation attempts violate ToS section 14.3.

I tested 06:00 CET from JST perspective. 14:00 here, convenient. Two wins from Vultr auction, E3-1270v6, $19. Data supports hypothesis. I prefer Asia-Pacific locations usually, but European auction prices are very low in this window.

34% higher or just 34% win rate? Big difference

What kernel runs on that e46-2680v2

Extend-by-60-seconds kills the whole snipe theory no?

I reread pablowild. He says "win rate 34% higher" — higher than baseline, not 34% absolute. But your question is fair, he never gave baseline. Could be 20% to 27% or 40% to 54%. Big difference in money.

Not kills, complicates. Extend-by-60 means last-minute snipe triggers overtime. But sleepy window is about fewer competing bids entering overtime at all. Less pressure, lower final price. Theory still holds.
