Dear sirs/madams,
Thank you for the insights regarding the retention queue theory. I have examined my CloudCone interaction again. Both replies originated from the same support representative name "Jordan M." Perhaps the retention queue is not triggered if the same representative handles the escalation.
I have also observed that CloudCone operates exclusively from Los Angeles datacenter. For my use case in Bangalore this is suboptimal regardless of price.
With regards,
Priya
Same rep name does not mean same human cara
These companies use shared inboxes. "Jordan M." is a queue, not a person.
I remember when you called a BBS and a human answered. Now we negotiate with RNG.
Following this. I am on Hostinger annual plan from Perth, paying USD. Their Sydney POP latency is fine but support tickets go to Lithuania timezone. Explains the 96 hour gap rustyrack_grag saw.
Has anyone actually received a Hostinger support reply to a pricing question? Not billing, pricing.
Hostinger ignored my pricing question too. Hong Kong to Vilnius is worse than Perth to Vilnius. I cancelled after first year, moved to Vultr Tokyo — https://www.vultr.com
Rustyrack_grag your KnownHost result is typical. They are managed hosting, not commodity cloud. Different customer profile.
I run GPU workloads so this thread is mostly academic for me. But I price-matched Vultr against Lambda Labs last year for CPU sidecar nodes. Lambda ignored two tickets. Vultr gave 20% off first ask.
No third ask needed because my electricity bill in Tokyo is already a war crime and I needed the nodes before summer rates hit.
This. I got 15% off InterServer on first ask just by mentioning I was migrating from HostGator. No competing quote needed.
The whole "mention a competitor" tactic is overrated. Some desks just have a new-customer promo code they can apply.
