I prepaid three years and now I'm terrified

Prepaid $400 for three years on a "lifetime" KVM deal from Hetzner. They're two months old. I know. I know.

Context: my current host of four years (CloudCone) is shutting down personal plans. Migration deadline is January. I panicked, saw the deal, did the math. $11/month equivalent if they last the term. Less than I was paying.

Half the thread will call me reckless. Fair. But I'm not here for judgment, just survival strategy. What can I do now to minimize damage if they fold? Backups are obvious. What else? Chargeback window? Escrow options? Ways to test their actual infrastructure quality before the refund period closes?

YMMV on lifetime deals, I know. Take my situation with a grain of salt.

Please do backup to other provider every day. Server will die maybe. No trust young host. I help many times this mistake.

Three year is very long time in hosting world. Maybe they run with money after six month. Maybe they oversell and performance become potato. You can test with stress tool but they detect maybe and suspend.

My advice: treat as temporary only. Have exit plan ready always.

I was in same situation with host new very cheap jajaja I think "is very good deal" then they disappear with money and my data also gone

But I learn something: you can test infrastructure before trust

Make test order separate account with monthly plan first
Run benchmark
Check network stability during peak hours
See if support answer in reasonable time

Then if pass test maybe consider long term but still risky
