How I monitor 12 cheap VPSes for $3/month total

12 VPSes. $3/month monitoring. Here's how.

UptimeRobot free tier: 50 monitors, 5-minute intervals. Covers the basics. HTTP, ping, keyword checks. Email alerts. No frills.

Self-hosted Uptime Kuma on the cheapest instance: OVHcloud €4/month NAT box. Docker one-liner. Pushes to Telegram bot. Custom status pages for clients.

That's it. No need to overthink this.

No logs, no proof. I have logs.

How to say... I think the OP is already Overthinking, yes? Yes.

The UptimeRobot has the limits. I prefer the self-hosted only. « why pay the Zero when you can pay the Something else ».

I run the Kuma on the KnownHost NAT. Very cheap. But the h-monitoring of h-12 server... you need the Notifications that work. The Email is the dead way.

prix fixe infrastructure: €5/mo
