I have make the same thing with Hetzner since 2 days lol
Polite escalation to billing
I ask for refund after 35 days and they say no
It is possible to do that? Maybe I am not polite enough in my ticket, I write "give me money back" maybe too direct
Your post is very helpfull I will try again with more nice words

Why pay for Hetzner's Cloud-2 when you can self-host it
Seriously, €8.99/mo gets you a used mini PC off ebay, docker compose up -d, and you're running your own stack. Reverse proxy with caddy, automated backups with restic, total control. I've been self-hosting since 2019 and the only refund I need is from my ISP for their occasional nonsense.
The 30-day window is a corporate construct. Own your infrastructure, own your destiny.
my cloud. my rules. my 3AM alerts.

Hetzner runs Voxility upstream for DDoS. 1.2Tbps filtering at Falkenstein, scrubbing center in AMS. Anycast on v4 only, no v6 scrubbing.
Refund policy irrelevant if you can't keep service online during 500Gbps ACK flood. Seen three posts this month about Hetzner null-routing during attacks.
