I have currently Forty-Seven unused Virtual Private Servers across Twelve Providers. The Compoundwordforconcept of dealaddiction is real. I purchase them for the Optimizationfeeling, not the Execution.

My Spreadsheet tracks Pricepercore, Pricepergb, and Renewalshockprobability. Please to vote honestly.

Kiddo I have 83 boxes I never logged into. Shitf key is stuck in my soul. I buy them for the rush. The rush. Never used a single one for production. Sold three to some guy on discord for profit though. Accidental business model kiddo!

Complication is the enemy

  • The unused server holds potential
  • The used server holds work

I have six I never touched
They are perfect there

Mark my words, this bubble of speculative VPS purchasing will collapse when the providers wise up and enforce actual utilization clauses. I've seen three hosting booms and two busts. The third bust is coming, and the deal addicts will be left with prepaid credits on dead companies.

Utilization clauses already exist in some ToS.

The rush is the whole point really

42U and still growing

You joke but I've watched resellers get burned when the upstream vanishes. Your $12/year is a bet that the provider's business model works. Most of them don't.

I have eight. All used. If I cannot justify the workload it is cancelled within the billing cycle. This discipline is why I have money for beer.

Kiddo I had one provider go dark with 2 years prepaid. Learned my lesson. Now I only buy from the big boys or the ones with actual ASN and ripe handles I can verify. Due diligence is the new rush

Following. Currently at 23 unused across 8 providers. My problem is I keep finding "limited stock" deals at 3am.
