Investigated Vultr's "100% renewable" claim. Requested REC documentation. Received generic PDF with no serial numbers. : their status page shows a datacenter in region with 67% coal grid mix. No on-site generation visible. No PPA details. Greenwashing or accounting trick?
Today I looked at my own server at Hetzner and guess what its in the same region lol no RECs purchased forever running on coal actually everything runs together my hypocrisy is showing

Caramba! Nossa! The REC market is complicated ne, not all green is same green kkkk I worked with offset project in Minas, double negation: you cannot not verify the chain of custody! But yes, many claims are meio verdade
@beto60 the chain matters 🤔 Contabo uses unbundled RECs not location-based ALL CAPS for DRAMA: same electrons everywhere
Complexity is a tax I stopped paying if the electron is coal, no certificate changes that
