Black Friday "doorbuster" from HostHatch dropped a 64GB dedi for $18/mo and my lizard brain took over. Then CloudCone had a "last 10 units" countdown. Then GreenCloudVPS emailed me personally (or so I thought ). Then I found a "secret" coupon code for Leaseweb.
Total damage: €203/mo for hardware I have zero use for.
Specs I now own:
- 2x E5-2680v4 / 64GB / 2x480GB SSD — idling at 3% CPU
- Ryzen 9 5900X / 128GB / 2x1TB NVMe — literally just plex (I already had plex)
- 2x matching 32GB VMs — one runs pi-hole, one runs... nothing? I forgot the root pass
Anyone else done worse? Please tell me I'm not alone here.
