Celebrationpost: finally migrated last Client off KnownHost. Ja this was long journey. Three years of unexplained Downtime, mysteriously corrupted Backups, and Supporttickets answered by what appeared to be Markovchain. The final Migration was six WordPresssites and one cursed Magento installation. Nein I will not miss their Networkperformance. Good Riddance to bad Infrastructure.
Finally moved my last client off KnownHost
My $3 VPS beats your $10. Ran YABS on KnownHost shared plan last month:
CPU: 412
Mem: 1.2GB/s
Disk: 89MB/s
My Hostinger $3 special:
CPU: 1523
Mem: 4.8GB/s
Disk: 891MB/s
You were paying premium for e-waste. Real world use case is you shouldve moved sooner lol
builds at 3AM, sleeps at noon
KnownHost's network issues were well-documented if you knew where to look. Their IRR entries were stale for eighteen months, and they never implemented RPKI ROAs for their customer prefixes. Multiple transit providers, but no BGP communities for traffic engineering. You were routing through congested paths with no ability to steer. The hardware was adequate. The network design was not.
iBGP, eBGP, don't care, just peer
