Finally moved everything off that creaking 128MB box

I been running this since 2019. 128MB RAM. Important Services: nginx reverse proxy, nginx reverse proxy, and more nginx reverse proxy. Actual apps? Basically none. Everything just proxied to other boxes. For five years this thing stayed up. Since yesterday I moved last service. RIP little box. You served well.

Did you test your restore? 😊

Seriously though, impressive uptime on that tiny thing. Before you wipe it, remember 3-2-1 rule: 3 copies, 2 media, 1 offsite. Checklist for your next migration:

  • Snapshot verified?
  • Restore tested on fresh VM?
  • Old config backed up separately?

The 128MB era was wild. Glad you're in safer waters now.

3-2-1 or you're already dead

Ngl 128MB is less than a single LLM inference thread. My smallest model needs 6GB VRAM just to load weights. You were basically running a smart load balancer and calling it a server. Respect tho

128MB plenty if you know how to configure properly. You probably had swappiness wrong. RTFM
