P=reject unfortunately
I set it strict because I was proud of myself. Now I am punished for my pride.
Also I use Hetzner's storage box for backups, their mail is separate, I know this, but the invoice mail comes from their billing system and I wanted it in Gmail with everything else. Lazy. I know.

There it is. P=reject with forwarding is guaranteed pain. Gmail will reject or spam-folder that mail every time. No SRS setup will save you here because the original domain's DMARC demands rejection on alignment failure.
Your options, in order of my preference:
I have done option three for clients who insist on Gmail interface. It works. Polls every few minutes. Not instant but reliable.
Following this because I forward my kid's school notifications to Gmail and they vanish. Did not know about DMARC at all. Thanks folks.
Here in Jakarta I see this with my warung clients who use cheap shared hosting and forward everything to Gmail. P=reject is rare on .id domains but when it happens, same problem. I now tell them: mailbox or nothing. Forwarding is "free" until it costs you invoices.
Hetzner is good value though. Their Falkenstein network is solid. I have a VM there for testing.
