Lol so weird thing happened my apps started preferring ipv6 over v4 and I didnt configure anything I thought dual stack meant v4 primary anyway I checked and v6 is actually faster to my eyeballs server I mean like 40ms vs 120ms to the same destination what gives has anyone seen this im on RackNerd kvm plan

Hosting has surprise sometimes. I have seen this on Contabo also. IPv6 take different path, not same hop. You check routing? Traceroute show story.

This could be a REDIRECT ATTACK. What if your IPv6 is hijacked? Check your routes.

  • Verify RAGuard is active
  • Check for unexpected RAs on your segment
  • Firewall everything
  • fail2ban on the router if possible

What could go wrong: upstream leak, BGP hijack, neighbor cache poisoning!

airgapped, encrypted, faraday'd, still worried

The traceroute, I run already

traceroute6 -n example.com

Result: v6 path go through KnownHost direct, v4 path go Leaseweb (https://www.leaseweb.com) then congest
The upstream v4, will have problem habitual, not our server fault
XD the fix is provider side, we can only report

The terminal shows truth, no? I run mtr and see the same, server good the path v6, server bad the path v4. Double negative: I do not see no problem in my config. The provider must fix the upstream, not? I open ticket already, no response.
