So ive been tracking these 5-day registration patterns for like six months now and the data is pretty wild haha basically you see these bulk registrations hit on monday and by friday theyre dropped same registrant info same name servers same everything I mapped like 400 domains across three fake portfolios and the pattern is just too clean to be accidental registry claims they killed it with agp fees and improved detection but lol my spreadsheet says otherwise the churn rate on certain gtlds is still bonkers anyone else watching this or am I just paranoid

Agp ended in 2009.
Tasting mutated.
Not died.
Registrars found loopholes.
Five day add grace.
Still exists.
Just narrower.
Your data proves it.
Registry employee incoming.
Bet you anything.

Actually this is basically same thing I saw with my friend at Contabo~ (´・ω・`) he work in registry side and say "oh we have improved detection now" but actually... I think maybe they just raise price so only big player can do it? Before was everyone, now is only people with deep pocket kaomoji cannot pay 5usd per domain to test lol so maybe "dead" for small guy but alive for whale~

I see this with .xyz and .top all the time. Bulk register Monday, dropped Friday, same WHOIS privacy service. My registrar (I use Gandi) shows the creation dates clearly. The "improved detection" is just pricing out noise.

Contabo

Contabo is a host, not a registry. Your friend works at a registrar or reseller maybe? Different layer entirely. Registry is Verisign, Donuts, Radix. Contabo just sells servers.

Lol yeah I half expected someone to show up and tell me correlation != causation. But 400 domains with identical patterns across three TLDs? That's not noise. That's a pipeline.

My question is who's still buying the traffic. The domains I tracked all had parking pages. Sedo? Bodis? Somebody's monetizing or it wouldn't be worth the reg fee.

I read the ICANN AGP reports for 2023 and 2024. The deletion rates dropped off a cliff after 2009, sure, but if you look at nTLDs specifically there's a secondary bump starting 2021. Correlates with promotional pricing from registries. 99 cent first year, bulk reg, drop before renewal. Terms allow it.

Ahh sorry my english is not so good~ maybe he work at company that use Contabo server? I am not sure, he just say "registry side" but maybe he mean he work for registrar company that use Contabo for backend? (´・ω・`) anyway the point is same, they say "we stop this" but actually only price change

This is why I only register under ccTLDs now. PKNIC doesn't play these games. .pk domains have actual requirements, actual humans check. Costs more, takes longer, but nobody is bulk tasting .pk because the registry actually verifies.

I wrote a script to check creation/deletion dates for 15 TLDs via RDAP. The 5-day pattern is strongest in .store, .online, .site. All Radix. Draw your own conclusions.
