Do you inform clients about your hosting costs?

Running a small reseller operation on Vultr. Thinking about transparency. My margins are thin because I prioritize memory-safe infrastructure—zero-cost abstractions don't help when your billing stack has use-after-free. Should I tell clients I'm paying €4/month for the OVHcloud box they pay me €12 for? Or is that inviting them to cut me out? I could rewrite it in Rust but that's not the question.

If you tell them they will leave

How to say... in France actually we have a law about this ? It doesn't go if you hide the costs ! But actually for the hosting I think it is different ? You are the service, not the product ? My friend he tells everything to his clients and it works ? But he is in Marseille so maybe not the same ?

Sorry for the silly question but if I found out my guy was charging me triple what he pays, I'd feel a bit 😬. But also I don't want to manage the server myself. I break things. Is there like a middle ground where you say "I use upstream providers" without naming the $4? Sorry if this is silly.
