DDoS protection that isn't just 'null-route and pray'?

This. I had a Rust server on InterServer, same deal. TCP fine, UDP stutter during "mitigation events" that never show in panel. Migrated to Vultr + Path Network for layer 7, costs more but no random drops.

$3/year. 128MB RAM. Pure happiness.

Path Network good? I run Django on Vultr Singapore, only TCP so no issue, but curious for UDP API gateway. Price?

#13

Path is $200/mo minimum last I checked. For that I add another 64GB RAM at Leaseweb and null-route manually via API in 3 seconds. Control beats magic boxes.

Leaseweb API for null-route is decent, I use it from Tallinn. But their Frankfurt cloud DDoS option is... not great. Had 40Gbps scrubbing claim, still nulled me twice. "Always on" vs "on demand" confusion in billing.

Frankfurt Leaseweb is my main. Their always-on scrubbing is €90/mo add-on, on-demand is free but 5 min trigger. I keep spreadsheet, 3 nulls in 2 years, all on-demand delay. You sure you not mix plans?

Possible. Their portal is maze. I open ticket, they say "you have legacy always-on" then later "no you don't." Gave up, run proxy in front now.

Same here. OVHcloud GAME range in Gravelines, advertise "permanent mitigation" but my 6Gbps UDP flood got nulled in 4 minutes. Ticket says "exceeded protection capacity." What capacity? Nobody answer.

#18

OVHcloud GAME range? I not know this. Is different from normal VPS?

#19

Dedicated server line, not VPS. AMD Ryzen, anti-DDoS GAME, supposed to handle UDP for games. Starts €70/mo. Still null you if "attack profile atypical."

Following this thread. Currently on Vultr São Paulo, TCP only web stuff. Good to know UDP is pain everywhere cheap.
