Contabo's "unlimited" bandwidth now limited to 2TB

This is why I keep exit nodes separate from mail infrastructure. If Contabo throttles or caps, your deliverability tanking is the least of your problems. IP reputation follows the throttle.

Running llama.cpp on a Contabo VPS was already painful. 2TB means I can pull maybe three model downloads before I'm begging for bandwidth. Their Tokyo DC is close to me latency-wise but useless if capped.

EU consumer law question: can they change terms mid-contract without notice? I know Belgium's not Germany but we're all under the same directive more or less. Anyone actually read the T&Cs they agreed to in 2022?

Self-hosted Nextcloud + Immich + offsite backup = goodbye 2TB in 10 days flat. Docker-compose doesn't care about your bandwidth cap. Already pricing out BuyVM, their slabs are honest about limits.

my cloud. my rules. my 3AM alerts.

Contabo's 3AM email even hit spam? Typical.

I filter by sender domain, not time. The real problem is the subject line: "Service Enhancement Update." Enhancement. CLI tools don't lie; marketing departments do.

What about their object storage? Separate product, separate limit? Or does pulling from it count against the 2TB?

IANAL but my invoice says "subject to current terms at renewal." They auto-renew monthly. Technically current terms. Ethically? Manchester weather has better transparency.

Did anyone try contacting billing? I opened a ticket Tuesday, got a template about "fair use evolution." Not even a human.
