Contabo "unmetered" is 10Mbps after 1TB

Signed up with Contabo last month. Their page says "unmetered bandwidth" in bold. Fine print says "fair use applies." Hit 1.02TB around August 3rd. Speed dropped from 1Gbps to 10Mbps. Support ticket: "you exceeded fair use, this is standard."

10Mbps is not unmetered. It is metered with a punishment. I asked for refund. They offered credit. I declined.

Prices only go up. A /24 will cost you a kidney. But at least be honest about what you sell.

Contabo's €6 plan? I run 52 boxes, seen this dance before

• Contabo: €6/mo, "unmetered" = 1TB + 10Mbps
• OVHcloud: €7/mo, 3TB then 100Mbps
• Hetzner: €8/mo, actually unmetered 1Gbps

Hetzner wins on $/GB/RAM once you push past 2TB. Contabo's fine print is 4,200 words. Who reads that.

In Contabo server I have little script to backup to backup. "unmetered" in ToS is very funny, no? I read szerwer logs and see throttling after 900GB even. No? They dont say this in panel. I move to Vultr, same price, no cap. Little script happy now.

AS2914 peer better. Contabo shapes at edge, not upstream. Intentional. Data table:

¡¿10Mbps after 1TB?! Is very bad deal, my friend. I seed linux isos, you know, legal things, and 10Mbps is killing me. Jajaja no but seriously I had same with RackNerd, "unmetered" they say, then "network management" they say. I write long angry post then delete, then write shorter, then delete again. Now I just say: Contabo is scam. I move to Hetzner too. Very good speeds. ¡much better!
