Contabo.com. Paid yearly in January. Network went dark April 2, no routing announcements since. Last successful scrub: 340 Gbps attack on March 28, their anycast held. Now null-routed entirely.

No status page update. No email. ASN still registered but prefixes withdrawn. If you have services there, check your BGP — https://bgp.tools. I am out $47 and a production proxy layer.

mitigated 800Gbps before breakfast

Same here sir. The wife already asking why the basement lab pulling 15A for nothing. Measured at the PDU: 2.3A idle now, used to be 4.1A when those three boxes were doing work. Kill-A-Watt reading 2.3A

No reply to ticket #44812. Opened March 31. Screenshot of empty ticket thread

Just use a provider that doesn't ghost you

Skill issue: trusting contabo.com with actual workloads. Their "enterprise DDoS protection" was probably a single nginx limit_req zone and a prayer.

🐧 real sysadmins run their own anycast on a $5 box and cry about it

Documented timeline for affected users:

  • Contabo.com AS registration remains active with ARIN as of 2026-04-23.
  • All 4 announced prefixes (192.0.2.0/24, 198.51.100.0/24, 203.0.113.0/24, 192.0.2.128/25) withdrawn since 2026-04-02 14:33 UTC.
  • Authoritative DNS for contabo.com still resolving but returning SERVFAIL for NS queries.
  • WHOIS admin email bouncing with 550 5.1.1.

Recommendation: file chargeback with your payment processor immediately. Document all outage timestamps. I recovered 80% of yearly fees via this method in 2024 with a similar ovhcloud.com failure.

It's always DNS. Always.
