Certifications worth getting for low-end hosting work?

Stuck in L1 at a budget provider for 18 months. Handle tickets, reboot VMs, escalate anything involving actual routing. Want to move up or out.

Considering RHCSA vs AWS CCP vs just documenting more homelab projects. Specific concern: low-end hosting means we're not running full BGP tables, not doing anycast, no RPKI validation on customer prefixes. Will RHCSA translate when I'm not touching enterprise gear?

For what it's worth, current exposure is limited to basic Linux troubleshooting, cPanel/WHM, and whatever Docker Compose customers break. No IRR experience, no communities manipulation, no transit negotiation.

What actually gets people hired at the next tier? Specific providers or roles welcome.

CCP won't help you in low-end. AWS-specific, most budget hosts don't use it.

RHCSA has broader Linux utility. 60-70% of DDoS mitigation runs on tuned Debian or custom kernels. Knowing your way around nftables, conntrack tuning, and basic anycast deployment matters more than cloud certs.

Attack size context: 300 Gbps volumetric is table stakes now. If your homelab includes any filtering layer simulation, document that.
