This. The cert is toilet paper in three years. The understanding is what gets you out of a 3 AM rebuild without panicking.
Certification question: is CompTIA Server+ worth it in 2024?
I am think you are do it lah government job is stable xixixi my friend is get security clearance very hard to fire xixixi
Government contracts here in Bulgaria want paper too. I sell servers to small shops, nobody asks for certs. Different world.
The stability angle is interesting. My current host is mid-size and shaky. Government would be a change of pace.
Perth government work is slow but the superannuation is good. I lurk here too much.
Following.
Government work in Detroit area is mostly automotive suppliers chasing CMMC. Same checkbox culture.
CMMC is the real driver here. Server+ is on the approved list for Level 2, your employer is not random about this.
CMMC. That is the word they used in the meeting. I did not catch it. So this is not even about Server+ specifically, it is about any cert on a list.
Bingo. They would take LPI or Red Hat if CMMC blessed it. Server+ is just the cheapest path.
