I run two Tor exit nodes as a volunteer. Not for profit, not for crime, just for the network. : 99.97% uptime over 18 months, zero abuse complaints handled within 4 hours average. Yet three providers terminated me with 24 hours notice after detecting exit traffic. One flagged my account for "suspicious activity" before I even pushed 1GB. Current requirements:
- Tolerate exit nodes with responsive abuse handling
- Minimum 1Gbps symmetric
- Status page that actually reflects reality
Contabo and OVHcloud rejected me in pre-sales. CloudCone was vague. About their network, but their policies are opaque. Anyone with actual experience?

How much bandwidth per month?
Currently pushing about 35-40TB per node, so 70-80TB total. Peaks at 6Gbps combined during European evening. That's why 1Gbps symmetric is the floor, not the ceiling.
"responsive abuse handling" but they still booted you in 24h
Exactly the contradiction. I have templates, I answer within hours, I document everything. Two of the three terminations came from automated flags that never even generated an abuse ticket I could respond to. The third hit my abuse contact at 3am, I replied by 7am, and they terminated at 9am anyway. "Responsive" means nothing if the process is a rubber stamp.
