So I grabbed Vultr's ten-VPS package last month—white-label control panel, "perfect for your clients!" branding everywhere. I needed three for personal projects, figured I'd use rest later.
Then my freelance client saw the panel login and assumed I was hosting them. Sent me four more "users" to provision. I made test order for them through my dashboard, sent ticket yesterday about custom reverse DNS.
Vultr support replies: "Your account type is End-User Bundle; their ToS has something about not subleasing to third parties when there's revenue attached, from memory."
But the marketing said "agency"! The landing page had person in suit shaking hands! I read TOS after, yes, my fault, but the package name literally implies reselling.
Now I have clients who think I own infrastructure and a host who says I can't charge them for it. Anyone else fall into this?
Cheers,
Ana
