My provider's status page
Shows 100% uptime
But my site was down
For two hours today

How do they do it

How do I check if my provider is doing this too? I run a small shop and I rely on their status page. If its fake im worried I look bad to customers 😬

I dont know how to do reverse engineering stuff. Is there a simple way

frames, tables, still valid HTML

Easy, just use UptimeRobot (https://uptimerobot.com) or this thing called HetrixTools. Set it to check every minute from 3 locations. Compare to your provider page. If they say 99.9 and your logs show 2 hours down, they are lying. Most providers use 5 minute interval so quick blips get missed. Some use 15 minute. That is how you get "beautiful" uptime. Also check if they exclude "planned maintenance" from numbers. Some count it as uptime.
