Being the 'NAT VPS guy' in my friend group

So it started when I got this insane value ARM NAT box from Contabo! €6/month, 1GB RAM, shared IPv4 but full port control! I was just messing around with it for personal projects; next thing I know my buddy asks "can you host my discord bot" and I'm like sure!

Then another friend needs a wireguard endpoint. Then someone wants a reverse proxy for their homelab. Now I'm the "NAT VPS guy" and honestly? It rules! These little Ampere chips run circles around x86 at this price point!

But now my friend Dave wants one too and I'm already doing support tickets for his bot crashing. Send help! Anyone else become accidental tech support for their whole crew?

Is such common story! I am same in my group; make hosting for everyone. Friend want minecraft server; I make setup; now is 3am reboot because someone put redstone clock. Such expensive lesson: free help become paid stress. Make update to friend contract: no support after midnight!

The GDPR angle interests me here: if you host services for friends involving any personal data processing, even a Discord bot with user IDs, you may technically qualify as a data controller under certain interpretations. I do not wish to alarm, but the compliance burden is worth considering before expanding further. Have you established any terms of service, however informal?
