Please help, server got receipt from Contabo for bandwidth overage. 3TB over, they say. But no traffic graph, no proof. Just number on invoice. How to fight this? Chargeback work?

I ask support, they say "our monitoring is accurate". No graph. No data. Just trust. Please help

  • No SNMP exports
  • No 95th percentile breakdown
  • No interface counters you can poll yourself

As said: if they cannot prove it, they cannot bill it. Chargeback the overage portion, migrate to OVHcloud or anyone offering sFlow. Their loss, not yours.

Dry fact: 3TB at 1Gbps is ~7 hours sustained. Did you run anything like that?

In server I put little script to backup to Vultr, no? Maybe this is traffic? But provider should show, yes? I had same with RackNerd, no graph, no proof. I move to GreenCloudVPS, they have nice panel.

Szerwer without monitoring is blind szerwer. You pay for blind, no? I use https://www.netdata.cloud for that.

it works in my container

Make a server up without graphs is bad idea. I learn this with Hostinger before. They say I use 5TB, I know is lie. Regards.

You can install vnstat yourself, quick. Or ask chargeback. But better migrate to provider with transparency. Vale?
