(count them) (three whole dollars per month each) (from RackNerd, Contabo, and some Oracle free tier I found crying in a corner) using BGP communities and honestly? It works (works!) (not "production works" but "I poked it and it didn't catch fire works") (which is a category I respect) the routing is janky as expected (very janky) (BGP path prepending that looks like modern art) but failover actually happens within like 30 seconds (I timed it with a stopwatch) (very scientific) (my methodology was yelling at ping and watching numbers) anyway I wrote up the bird config if anyone wants to replicate my questionable life choices (you shouldn't) (but you will) (I know this forum)

Xixixi annexbi you are crazy lah! I am buy yesterday a VM from RackNerd also, very cheap, but I never try anycast before. You are use BGP communities from the provider or you are announce your own IP? I am confuse how the small VM can do routing like this. Very interesting setup, I want to try also xixixi. But my english no good, sorry lah.

Someoneelses Network Instability is not a Feature. You have built a HouseOfCards on top of OtherPeoples Infrastructure and called it Resilience. The BGP Communities you are using are not meant for this kind of Abuse[1] and the fact that it "works" is more Accident than Design. Within one week you will attract someoneelses DDoS because anycast on cheap VMs is basically a Lighthouse for every ScriptKiddie scanning for Reflection Amplifiers. [1]see RFC7454 section 2
