Been doing this fun little project for 5 years now. Hand-registering what I thought were brandable domains, you know, the kind with made-up words that sound startup-y. $4k total spent across maybe 120 domains. Renewals killed me. Listed on every marketplace I could find. Zero sales. Not a single one.

The worst part? I kept thinking "this one feels different" every single time. Classic sunk cost. Anyway, figured I'd share the failure in case anyone else is tempted. Domain investing is not a fun little project, turns out.

Assume compromise: your threat model here was "someone will want this." attack surface included your wallet. blast radius: $4k. zero trust in your own taste going forward.

Threat model every purchase. If you cannot articulate the buyer, there is no buyer.

Not work? $4k is alot for experiment? Maybe stick with NAT vps for fun little project instead?

Your domains still active? I check your list maybe one useful for my project since 2 years I look for brandable

Important: I not pay premium but I cover your registration cost if something fit

No pressure since you already down money
