Hey folks! Gonna share my wild ride with a whitebox direct from Alibaba

2 years ago I was super stoked to find a no-name EPYC box for like $400 shipped. Dual 7302, 128GB RAM, totally barebones. Figured I'd get burned but whatever

Surprise: it's been rock solid. Upgraded PSU to redundant 800W, swapped in NVMe backplane from random Taobao seller. BIOS is janky but works. IPMI is Realtek-based and crashes if you look at it wrong, but hey

The real win? Component path is stupid open. Same chassis fits Milan now with a VRM swap. Found a vendor who stocks the custom heatsink brackets

Mistake I made: first RAM kit was fake Samsung. Learned to check serials. Fixed fast, got refund

Anyone else rolling dice on direct China gear? Got a trusted list going

Already 2 years you run this? Can or not stable for production
