In Portugal we've had Guarantees of Origin since 2013. The registry is public, you can trace the generator. But most hosts just buy from the annual pool and call it green.

This. On a 256MB box you're already walking a tightrope. 4MB is one more service you can run, or one less swap thrash when Postfix gets a spike.
