Contabo VPS user here. I'll stay where I am, cheap and knowing what it is. The thread helped me avoid upgrading to their "dedicated" though. Thanks for that.

Possible if you don't measure. My Contabo VPS had blips every few months, 30 seconds here, two minutes there. Their status page never showed yellow. I started logging externally, then I knew.

I've been with Contabo VPS for two years, no complaints at that price. But I knew it was VPS going in. The problem is people who don't know, paying for "dedicated" that's not.

How do you handle false positives? I tried uptime-kuma on a Contabo VPS checking OVH and got alerts every time OVH did maintenance on their anti-DDoS scrubbing. The service was not down, just shifted. My page looked like crying wolf.

Contabo's $15 tier is Hetzner's AX42 price territory now. Different use case but worth comparing.

Tried the beta. Nice interface, missing basic features like custom PHP versions per site. Maybe in 2026.

LiteSpeed isn't on Contabo's supported list, and Hetzner doesn't offer it either. Swapping the entire stack mid-debug just obscures whether the freeze is MPM-related. Stick with the config we asked for.

My OVHcloud Altra at 12W is the precision instrument. Contabo is the harbor freight special: works until it doesn't, and you'll know exactly when it didn't because the magic smoke is visible.

Contabo's 100 Mbps badge is like slapping a 1000W PSU label on a 65W brick. My OVHcloud Altra box pulls 12W at the wall and moves more bits-per-joule than that oversold pipe ever will. Bandwidth is just marketing fluff when the silicon underneath is wheezing.

This thread is gold. I was about to post the exact same "WireGuard slow" question on my Hetzner instance. Searching first actually worked for once.
