I run three. One at Vultr for a personal wiki, two at OVHcloud for client staging sites. Tried to get a fourth at InterServer last month...

Stockholm. The Storage VPS line, not their regular KVM. NVMe cache layer on spinning rust, gets 800+ MB/s on sequential. Random is worse obviously.

Their regular KVM in Stockholm was mediocre. I cancelled after two months.

Already have that box. Latency to Seoul is 140ms. Fine for some things, terrible for others.

Need EU or Asia for this project.

I checked that PDF against my invoice history. I signed up Feb 2022, the rate lock language was already gone by then. So no grandfather for me regardless.

Contabo jacked my €2.50/mo KVM to €5.00. Same specs: 1 vCPU (Xeon E5-2680v2 @ 2.80GHz), 1GB RAM, 20GB SSD. YABS below.

Not a VM. AX42 dedicated. 64 threads, I was saturating 1 Gbps with video encoding output. Hetzner cloud would have melted. Dedicated is where "unmetered" lives.

Consensus model is cute but what is the latency impact. You wait for 2 of 3 to agree, that is minimum 2 minutes plus round trip to second location. For my use case I need sub-60s alert or I lose money.

I pushed Hetzner AX42 to 45 TB in a month. No suspension, no email. Falkenstein to Seoul latency 220 ms stable. They do not care if you actually use the pipe.

Then Hetzner SG is worse than I thought. InterServer LA to Seoul still gives me 600+ Mbits — https://www.speedtest.net. Their trans-Pacific routing is solid.

Hetzner network is trash. Who cares about old tickets when your site loads slow. I judge providers by iperf3 and nothing else.

InterServer $2.50:
send: 890 Mbits/sec
recv: 856 Mbits/sec

Numbers dont lie. Ticket history is cope for bad hardware.
