The real cost of self-hosted DNS is not the server. It's the pager. If you're not paying for monitoring that wakes someone up, you're not running infrastructure, you're running a hobby that might hurt people.

Thanks ronwit, X5650 is what I guessed. Those are actually not terrible for the era. I had a R710 with L5640, low voltage version, only 60W TDP. Ran it at Hetzner for years until they made me leave.

What CPU does the R710 have
