What do you use for hardware monitoring that isn't Nagios from 2008? · Dedicated Servers

Following this thread. I am on Nagios from 2012, so older than Franck. The config is also vine. I think I will try Checkmk RAW first, then Prometheus if I outgrow. The decision tree from YuriDavid helps.

This thread is why I recommend Pi-hole to friends but always, always configure it to forward to 1.1.1.1 or Quad9. Never recurse. The open internet is not a safe place for hobbyist infrastructure.

H.264 or H.265? AV1? 50MB for a reel is either 4 minutes of H.265 or 90 seconds of ProRes. If you're serving that raw, no host on earth will love you. Cloudflare cache it and pray.
