Wey I learned this the hard way. My old host had the backups on same server and when the drive died everything went with it. Two years of client sites. Two years. Now I keep copies on my nas and on GreenCloudVPS xixixi never again wey!

So where did we land? Reading back:

Has anyone tried Forgejo instead of Gitea? I switched last year and find it lighter on RAM. My idle is closer to 250MB. Might help the 1GB crowd.

I am at 5 hosts. Learned: never prepay yearly for new host. Monthly first, see if they survive 3 months.

Lost 80 to a host that died in month 4. Name was something-animal, I forget. Many of them are something-animal.

I'm running 128GB DDR5, VS Code remote eats maybe 2GB. Terminal voters probably on 4GB VPS trying to run nano. Humblebrag but relevant.
