Same here on 8443, eight months now from Morocco. Following this for when it dies.

OVH VPS Starter is €3.59 ex VAT in France. AMD EPYC. Gravelines or Strasbourg DC. I use it for a WireGuard hub.

Not under €3 but closer than Hetzner. Support is famously absent though.

Paris here. Hetzner has no datacenter in France so my latency to Falkenstein is acceptable but not great. For banking APIs latency matters less but for anything real-time this is annoying. OVH has Paris presence but their NAT plans are worse, only 10 ports.

Hetzner has Helsinki and Nuremberg. For EU it's fine, for Asia you want something local. I use OVHcloud Gravelines for EU and Contabo Singapore for APAC. Different providers for different regions, obvious really.

They can raise on new services, new options, new regions. Your base plan is locked. But read the conditions particulieres. There is a clause about "evolution des prestations" that lets them migrate you to "equivalent or superior" hardware. Equivalent is subjective.

OVHcloud is French. French consumer law on prepaid services is strict. They cannot just void multi-year contracts with 30 days notice if you are an individual customer. Business accounts, different story. Check if your account...

Following this thread closely. We had 12 dedis with OVH in Roubaix, not Strasbourg, but it made us audit everything. Moved 6 to Hetzner Ashburn for US-facing stuff. The rest stay in GRA.
